In Shelton's series titled, "Room Room" she transforms these once personal spaces into mere documents of emptiness. As these images are all quite similar the viewer attempts to distinguish differences within them and often over analyse in order to suggest meaning in the image. For example in this image we can see a halo effect the lighting from the window is giving off. Paired with the door handle that resembles a cross we can make our interpretations of the image.
The rounded edges of the image reflect a sense of invitation into the room and take away the harshness from eeriness of emptiness. This however contradicts the geometric perpendicular axes of the interior space.
Shelton seemed to be an appropriate artist to look into with this series, after my own investigations with my "empty containers" work
