Derriere la Gare Saint-Lazare, 1932 - Henri Cartier-Bresson

One of Cartier-Bresson's most famous images, a man is seen jumping over a puddle. However cliché this type of photograph is, Cariter-Bresson brings a new, fresh sense to it. Conveying several photographic conventions, this image captures the moment with unbelievable detail. From harshness of the wrought iron fence contrasting with the softness of the ripples from the ladder.
The individual is caught mid motion jumping over the puddle resulting in blur.
