Venice, Italy. October -
A deliberately underexposed image in order to gain a desired effect, this image has been taken early morning shooting directly into the sun. Despite this, there is a softness about the light, which avoids any harshness in the image.
A stark contrast can be seen from the silhouetted canoes with the strong backlight, this really brings the foreground forward to make it a strong subject.
In the background we can see a series of buildings that are despite also silhouetted, quite distinguishable from the foreground subjects.
